Dr. Irene Bueno is spending five weeks on a research project
at EcoHealth Alliance in New York. Dr.
Bueno was granted a scholarship from a program called EcoHealthNet, of which
the University of Minnesota is a part.
Her focus will be related to the wildlife trade and the
implications/risks that this might have for public health in the US.
Specifically, she will be looking at the public health risk of rodents imported
to the US. It is a project that Dr. Dominic Travis, Associate Professor,
Veterinary Population Medicine, and Dr. Kristine Smith (EcoHealth Alliance) put
together.
