TRC in the News - Minnesota Conservation Volunteer Magazine

As you know, TRC has long been collecting data on bald eagle clinic patients with lead poisoning. It's heartbreaking to watch these majestic birds seize, convulse, and often go blind as a result from ingesting the fragments of spent lead ammunition in deer gut piles.

We'd like to share a recent article from the MNDNR's publication Minnesota Conservation Volunteer about how a simple choice like copper ammunition instead of lead can make a difference.

We recently worked with the MNDNR to gather various stakeholders (state wildlife conservation, press, ammunition producers, sporting goods retailers and others) together for a grass-roots conversation about how to advance understanding and knowledge sharing on this topic.
